        <title>Dar to live life !</title>
        <link>http://www.harphampix.com/v2/document.php?id=30973</link>
        <description>
Dare to live life ! Photographers tend to see things at another angle , we
see things that others miss . But at the same time we ourselves miss many
stops that we should be taking along the way . So as I advised Judy once .
Stop someday where ever you are . Sit quietly and see just what photos you
can take within a 3 meter radius around you. You would be surprised what
you will find . Do this on one of those days when you feel uninspired . By
the way , Judy did not see the snake at first. LOL !
Hugs.

        <link>http://www.harphampix.com/v2/document.php?id=30965</link>
        <description>
I'm repeating this one from several years ago on the 4th of July. It's one
of my favorite Photoshop depictions. Tried this imaginary way of displaying
perfect fireworks for our USA Independence Day. Hard to believe the British
were the enemy then. Wow! How times have changed!

His name is Trek because od a star on his for head.
as I approached he left Mom &amp; hay to visit with us. Never seen such a
friendly unafraid one like him.

What a sweetheart! He would not let me get far enough away from him to get
a good shot. His mom was still eating, but keeping a very close watch on me.
One wrong move &amp; I would have landed in the next county.

You can see he is losing his baby &quot;fuzz&quot; &amp; his new coat will
be dark.

Meet Shoe . I found him along the RR tracks in Los Angeles . I brought him
home as a prop. He goes everywhere with us . He has been photographed at
the beach , mountains and desert . Next thing is I am goint to have him
pose with admiring women. But I do think he should meet Pam's &quot;Beauty
and the beast &quot;. He thinks that they are a couple of real sexy twins
&quot;.
Enjoy !

        <description>
Who doesn't know about Route 66? Next to the ancient Silk Road, it is
arguably the most famous highway ever to exist, possibly even outshining
the former. Like the Oregon trail, Route 66 carried latter day pioneers to
the great West in search of the promise of a better life. When it still
existed, it was a national phenomenon and now that it is gone (though not
in spirit!) it has become an international phenomenon. All of this is
deservedly so since it was one of the most significant roads of our time
and did much to capture the spirit of America. In fact, the Smithsonian has
an exhibit dedicated to Route 66, which to my knowledge is the only one
devoted entirely to a single highway. What has always amazed me is that it
gained such fame and such recognition in a very short time. Route 66
existed as a signed highway for only 59 years, from 1926 to 1985, but it
has gained fame and endearment beyond its years. Here isc a photo of a gas
station on old Rt. 66 .
The pumps are gon as well as the soung of , &quot; Fill her up Sir , check
the oil and water &quot;. The sound of children playing behind by the house
in the back . So much has been given up for progress. So much history has
been lost for our children. I took this photo a couple of weeks ago and
edited it while on the phone with Judy Seltenright.
Enjoy the history.

For all of you who are Irish . Now I believe in Leprechauns . For I met
this one on the street . I could tell by his impish smile and the twinkle
in his eyes . Of course he never admitted to it , but I just could tell.
Besides when he was gone , I found two gold pieces at my feet !
Enjoy !

Thank you new members for raising the bar. Us oldies all got a bit staid
and complacent. You have now set the standard so high with such new
perspective that it is going to be difficult to get back into the game.
Wish you had all joined earlier. I am looking forward to seeing all your
future postings and hope to try to follow your standards. Thank you also
for commenting. Your green spots are refreshing!
